A 360 Christmas for Daybreak…
One of our convenience retailer clients Daybreak, asked us to come up with a ‘stand-out’ Christmas social campaign using unique ways to promote their new seasonal stock. Through research, we discovered the most engaging form of social content was either gamified, or used tech to promote a product.
Our research helped us create a solution that would certainly stand-out over the holidays. We took ‘360 thinking’ a little too literally…by creating a gamified 360 video, viewable through mobile gyroscope, and desktop.
Rather than use a film crew, we decided to make it as authentic as possible and have Santa himself direct the video with a 360 camera secured to his shopping trolley. Santa interacted with staff whilst filling his trolley with the best of Daybreak Christmas product.
We added several gamified elements to the video, asking viewers to search around the store for golden Christmas baubles (with added animated sparkles to help people find them!) for the chance to win the ultimate Christmas prize (the top 10 most wanted Christmas toys!).
Our campaign resulted in a huge 88% increase in Facebook likes and a record breaking video reach of over half a million. Along with this, we had over 6 thousand competition entries and a constant level of engagement throughout the entire campaign.
